Enrollment in this capstone project serves as the final requirement for the Metadata Principles and Practices micro-credential. Completion of the assignments, capstone project and the four prerequisite courses is required to earn the micro-credential. Learn more about micro-credentialing.
The Metadata Principles and Practices micro-credential recognizes foundational knowledge and practical understanding of metadata concepts, standards, quality assessment, interoperability, and relationships. This capstone experience allows participants to apply and demonstrate what they have learned across the four prerequisite courses through assignments and a culminating project.
To earn the Metadata Principles and Practices micro-credential, participants must successfully complete this capstone course and the following four courses:

- Outline components and needs of a successful metadata standard
- List types of metadata and their roles
- Learn methods of customizing, exchanging, transforming, and migrating metadata
- Identify technologies for articulating relationships in metadata
